Aussie stint for rep

FIJI's top shooter Glen Kable is training in Australia for the 2018 Commonwealth Games which will be held at Gold Coast, Australia, next month.

Fiji Shooting Association vice-president George Karountzos said members of the national shooting team were making the most of resources available to them here.

"Glen Kable is going to represent Fiji with Christian and Quintyn Stephen and Swee Seng Phua in the Commonwealth Games," Karountzos said.

"The four boys are spending a lot of time in training.

"Glen will join the team in Brisbane and he is training and shooting in Australia.

"He has been putting in a lot of hard work and dedication in preparations.

Kable had been competing in past Olympic Games with the last one being in Rio, Brazil, and he had represented Fiji in other international competitions.

"I believe our boys would give their best in the Commonwealth Games and they have a potential of bringing back a medal from the competitions," Karountzos said.

"Glen is a very well seasoned shooter and had represented Fiji at many levels including the Commonwealth Games and Pacific Games.

"He is a world ranked shooter while the other shooters have come up.

"Christian has a very good chance of doing in the competition."

The 2018 Commonwealth Games will be held at the from April 4-15 at the Carrara Stadium, Australia.
