THE Damodar City Complex at Laucala Bay in Suva was a hive of activity yesterday as people of all races gathered to celebrate Holi.

Dubbed the festival of colours, Holi signifies the arrival of spring and end of winter and for many, it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive and repair ruptured relationships.

Damodar Group chief executive officer Div Damodar said the festival was about having fun and to show that Fiji was a multiracial country.

"For Fiji, we are very grateful that we have a multiracial country and today( yesterday), we want to empower, we are focused on increasing development. We have this event which has grown to bigger and greater heights," Mr Damodar said.

" It was like over 2000 people last year, and according to social media following this year for the event — over 4000 people are following it.

"This is what Fiji is all about. There are no boundaries or walls between the races or religion and we are so proud to be hosting the event."

Various celebrations were held in the Western and Northern divisions as well to mark the prevalence of good over evil.
