Update: 1:08PM PEOPLE living in parts of Sigatoka are advised to store up on water as supply has been disrupted to the area until tomorrow.

The Water Authority of Fiji said customers would be experiencing low water pressures or receive none at all from yesterday afternoon until tomorrow Sunday March 4.

The affected areas include Uluisila Hilltop, Naidovi and surrounding areas - Naevuevu, Yadua, Hexagon Sub-division, Nasama, Vunavuto and Kulukulu areas, Olosara Sewerage road, Naduri areas, Nacocolevu, Nasau, Nawamagi, Nakabuta and surrounding areas, Rakirakilevu, Laselase, Nayawa and surrounding areas, Crows Nests Resort, Tubakula Beach Bunglows and Cassablanca, Outrigger on the Lagoon Resort, Fijian (Shangri-La's) Resort and Natadola Intercontinental Hotel.

The authority attributed the supply interruption to the low water levels at Matovo water treatment plant and reservoirs in Sigatoka area, subsequent to the current electrical fault encountered at the treatment plant's Gen-set changeover system that resul;ted from the unplanned FEA power shutdown.

The fault rectification and electrical repair works are in progress and is expected to be completed by midnight tonight.

Water supply to the affected customers is expected to be gradually restored from 5pm tomorrow.
