NEW kid on the block Alasio Sovita Naduva has forced his way in the final 12-member team released by Fiji Airways Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber last night.

The Hamilton 7s player of the final who just arrived in Las Vegas last night was named alongside his team members who won in New Zealand few weeks ago.

Nippy Waisea Nacuqu has been named the 13th player while Batinisavu Uluiyata has missed the cut.

The other players named include skipper Jerry Tuwai, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Josua Vakurinabuli, Kalione Nasoko, Paula Dranisinukula, Vasikali Mudu, Jasa Veremalua, Mesulame Kunavula, Vatemo Ravouvou, Eroni Sau and Amenoni Nasilasila.

Earlier in the week, Baber said he wanted Naduva this weekend and was grateful that his prayers were answered.

He said Naduva was his trump card in Hamilton and he is expected to use the similar philosophy this week —— using Naduva mainly as impact player.

"Naduva, originally I put him as an impact player and gave him more space on the field when players are tired around him that is where he does best with his quick feet," Baber earlier stated.

"I was blessed with that kind of speed, you always looking for small advantages in all the games and all add up in victory."

Meanwhile, Baber said the famous white national jumper with the coconut tree emblem on their chests meant a lot to the players.

He said Fiji jersey comes with a huge responsibility and challenges and the boys were ready shoulder the hope of the nation in their effort to secure their second world 7s title this year.

Baber said the heart-breaking loss to South Africa last year will inspire the side to restore their lost glory at Sam Boyd Stadium.

"Every time we wear the Fijian white jersey is always a challenge.

"We always have happy time here in Vegas in the last four or five years and last year we came very close of winning.

"We want to go home one better this year. We talked about what we did in Hamilton, how we took game by game , we develop the game during some tough periods in tournaments we have to come through.

"We are strong to our faith and what we believe as a group of players and we are looking forward this weekend," he added.
