THE launch of the Leadership Fiji program saw the introduction of 30 new participants who are middle to top level managers and business heads.

Chairman of Leadership Fiji's board of directors William Parkinson said, "Each year, the number of applications and the number of participants grow and the challenge of selecting participants becomes more difficult."

The program was on to its 17th year and 383 leaders had graduated from Leadership Fiji since 2002.

Chief guest Imrana Jalal, who is a member of the World Bank's Inspection Panel, said while setting up local and international institutions in leadership, people were bound to make mistakes.

"You're allowed to make mistakes, but learn from them and don't make the same mistakes again," Ms Jalal said.

Out of the 30 participants, Taniela Rararua, who is the head of security at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, said he was grateful to be selected as one of the participants.

"This opportunity will help me expand my knowledge on leadership not only at the workplace but also in other spheres that will help us support our government."
