PREPARATIONS are well in progress for the National Federation Party ahead of the 2018 General Election.

And the party yesterday announced 10 more provisional candidates.

The 10 will join the 30 provisional candidates who were announced in the first batch of candidates released by the party last month.

Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said the party was proud of its line-up so far and they would be campaigning on issues.

"These are men and women of credibility, who have set out to serve our beloved Fiji and put national interest above everything else," Prof Prasad said.

"They will greatly help NFP bring about the much needed change that Fiji so desperately needs for the better.

"And there is no doubt that change is coming and change is inevitable because the policies of NFP are designed to enhance the social, economic and political advancement of all our people."

Among the named were former deputy Suva mayor, Jiosefa Gavidi, entrepreneur and former Zee TV journalist Riddhi Damodar, parliamentarian Parmod Chand and others.

Meanwhile, Damodar Group chief executive officer Div Damodar yesterday clarified that Ms Damodar was not associated nor employed by the group in any capacity whatsoever.

He said the group was apolitical.

"The Damodar family and Group therefore do not support nor do they have any involvement in her political ambition and aspirations," Mr Damodar said.
