SGS inter-house: Head boy's golden jump

Update: 5:21PM AN injury in the athletics zone meet last year will not deter Luke Rogoyawa Seruwaqa of Suva Grammar School in achieving a gold medal in this year?s annual Coke Games.

The head boy of the Veiuto-based school who won first place in the senior boys long jump today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva with a jump of 6.01m said he was satisfied with his performance.

"The last time I jumped was last year after suffering from a PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) injury in the Southern zone semi-final against Marist last year. I'm looking for a comeback this year and I can't wait to make my school proud," Seruwaqa said.

The outspoken lad from Makadru, Matuku in Lau attributes his success to his parents whom who says are his role models.

Representing Green House, Seruwaqa said he will need to work on his speed heading into the zone meet that is two weeks away.

He says his personal best in the event is 6.49m.
