LATTER-Day Saints College is positive of a good outing at the Suva secondary schools athletics zone one competition on March 16.

Principal William Ratusaki said the school hoped to work on their athletes' skills to make an impact in the competition.

"Most of our athletes have opted for rugby league than running on the tracks," he said.

"The training skills are different.

"With 328 students, it is very hard to find those who specialise in track and field events."

Ratusaki said they were psyching up the athletes to have the spirit of participation.

"We have Sereana Vulaono, who will be running in the 100 metres and 200 metres sub junior grade. She won a gold medal in the 2017 Chow Games for Suva.

The school hopes to field 80 athletes in the zone competition.

Garedites House defended its title with 26 gold, 26 silver and 18 bronze medals during the school's inter-house competition.

Lehites House finished second with 21 gold, eight silver and 10 bronze medals. Mulekites House finished third with 18 gold, 25 silver and 21 bronze medals with Nephites House on last position with 18 golds, 16 silver and 15 bronze medals.
