FIJI'S top weight-lifter Manueli Tulo, is ready to make the nation proud at the 2018 Commonwealth Games to be held in Gold Coast, Australia in April.

Tulo, 27, finished eighth at the World Championship in Anaheim, USA and he had been undefeated in the Pacific and the Oceania region for a number of years.

"I am training hard for the Commonwealth Games," Tulo said.

"I got a few niggling injuries, but I am all ready to face the challenges in the Commonwealth Games.

"It is our last lap of preparation before we move to Australia for the Games."

Tulo, who had won three gold medals in the 2017 Pacific Mini Games will head to New Caledonia to train under coach Paul Coffa in the Oceania Institute of Weightlifting.

"It would be a good preparation in New Caledonia in the right environment," he said.

"As the competition is getting closer, the hype is getting higher as well."

The Commonwealth Games will be held from April 4-15.
