ROMULO Senimoli of Assemblies of God High School's Apostles House hopes to win a gold medal in the 2018 Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association Suva Zone One competition.

The lad from Namuamua Village in Namosi said he wanted to improve his performance from last year.

He won the blue ribbon event for the school in the zone after clocking 11:25 seconds .

"I came first in the zone finals last year, but unfortunately I came second in the heats during the Coca-Cola Games last year," he said.

"This year I'll be taking part in the same event and in the 800 metres.

"The past year was good because I balanced studies and training. I hope to win gold this year."

Senimoli won the 200m final with a time of 23:34s and the 400m where he clocked 2:33:34 minutes.

In the girls 100m final, Maria Vakaruru of Apostles House won with a time of 14:44secs.
