THE Social Democratic Liberal Party is yet to interview all potential candidates for the 2018 General Election.

Party leader Sitiveni Rabuka said this was expected to be done by next week.

The party recently announced their first batch of candidates consisting of 30 that included former Peoples Democratic Party leader, Lynda Tabuya.

Mr Rabuka said they would be announcing the names of candidates next week.

He said the party was also continuing work on their manifesto ahead of the polls.

"We have a brief version of it that the candidates can start working on and also they can improve upon and send recommendations back before we publish the full one which will be the parent document for party policies," Mr Rabuka said.

The SODELPA leader earlier told this newspaper the party's focus would be race-neutral. He said the party would also focus on putting more emphasis on accessibility to education and schools with good and quality facilities.

"The upgrading of rural standard of living by making rural living profitable, accessible to markets, the rural electrification for rural development is another program that we will be looking at," he said.

Mr Rabuka said the party's manifesto would also focus on achieving sustainable development goals and environment considerations.
