Impact of agri exporters immense

Update: 9:55PM The impact of agricultural exporters� businesses and the jobs they create contribute immensely to our economic development says, David Kolitagane.

The permanent secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture made the comment while opening the Exporters� Symposium at the Tanoa Plaza hotel this morning.

"You certainly contribute to food and income security, rural development, poverty alleviation, empowerment of our youths and women, and the diversification of our agricultural sectors," Mr Kolitagane said.

"I look forward to your input today to help us better understand the challenges you face and at the same time try and address these issues," he said.

The event was attended by Fijian agricultural exporters, senior representatives of the NZ and Australian High Commission, invited speakers from New Zealand and Australia, Government representatives, stakeholders and members of the media.
