Cessna 172: Search team on reconnaissance flight

Update: 3:20PM SECURITY personnel have been airlifted to the Delaikoro mountain range to inspect the identified crash site of the Pacific Flying School Cessna 172 aircraft.

The team left Labasa Airport an hour ago.

Led by DPC North SSP Verani Nakauyaca, the team loaded ropes, nets and other materials for the rescue operation at Delaikoro, Cakaudrove.

An aerial search team located the wreckage just before noon today.

PFS trainee pilot Merelesita Lutu and her instructor Iliesa Tawalo have been missing since Monday when they did not return from a routine training flight over Vanua Levu.
