KELEPI Yaloqaqa, the fastest student of Dilkusha Methodist High School in Nausori, wants to be remembered as the fastest Fiji secondary schools athlete this year.

He won the blue ribbon event and the 200 metres final during the school's inter-house competition at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

The Yaka House sprinter clocked 11.02 seconds in the blue ribbon event and 23.02s in the 200m final.

The Coca-Cola Games 2017 blue ribbon champion Shane Tuvusa of Natabua High School clocked 10.53s last April.

Yaloqaqa of Daku Village, Tailevu, said he wanted to compete in the games because this would be his swan song.

"We all have different talents and when we're still young, we make sure we use our God-given talents," he said.

"Life is hard nowadays and we want to make our parents happy, so this is how we can repay them by winning a medal for them in the Triple N Zone and I hope to make it into the Coca-Cola Games in April."

The junior boys 100m final was won by Joseph Aisake of Damanu House who clocked 13.34s.

The Fapufa, Rotuma lad said he wanted to win a gold medal in his first year in secondary school.
