Party to work with results

UNITY Fiji Party says the results of the Tebbutt-Times poll were a useful guide for the party to plan its work in the lead up to the 2018 polls.

Party leader Savenaca Narube said this while responding to the results of last week's Tebbutt-Times poll on the preferred prime minister.

"We all know that the polls are not perfect, but Unity Fiji will listen to all indicators of the people's choice," Mr Narube said.

"The result of the recent poll clearly tells us that Unity Fiji needs to do more in raising our visibility as a new party with credible and proven leadership.

"We are very conscious that we are the only new party while the others have been established for a long time," he said.

Mr Narube said the February poll was taken only six months after Unity Fiji Party was established.

"Many people are yet to know of Unity Fiji, who we are and what we intend to achieve. We are now stepping up our efforts to reach as many people as we can.

"We have visited Nadroga, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba and Tavua in the last two weeks.

"The reactions that we have received from our consultations are very different from the results of the Tebbutt-Times poll.

"Leadership, which is the topic of this recent poll, will be the key to the 2018 election.

"I expect the results of these polls to change significantly in the coming months."
