THE Pacific Flying School turned down a request to interview the trainee pilot who was also on board the missing Cessna 72 aircraft reported missing in Labasa on Monday.

This newspaper contacted trainee pilot Kara Derederenalagi on Monday night and was politely told to seek approval first from the school.

She said she was advised by the school not to talk to anyone about the incident.

When the newspaper contacted her again yesterday morning, the emotional trainee pilot said she was not able to talk to anyone.

Efforts to get approval from the school were denied.

Ms Derederenalagi got off at Labasa Airport on Monday morning before the missing duo — trainee pilot Merelesita Lutu and instructor Iliesa Tawalo — left for Savusavu.

At Savusavu the two reportedly turned back and headed to Labasa. The two were reported missing after this trip.
