US Coast Guard cutter in first visit

Update: 3:41PM THE United States coast guard cutter Polar Star docked for the first time at the Suva Kings Wharf earlier today.

Commanding Officer, Captain Michael Divanzo  said this visit would mainly give the opportunity for the 150 member crew to explore Suva and also get some supplies. 

"We're grateful to be here and have the opportunity to explore its new for most of us on the ship."

"We have some logistics stuff to work on, we have some supplies to pick up and then we�re going to do a little bit of crew rest before we make the last leg of our trip back to Seattle."

The US CG Cutter Polar Star is expected to be in Suva till Friday.
