Village headman Ratu Vere Wawatabua who is with the search team said they left early this morning in search for the missing Cessna 172 Pacific Flying training aircraft.

"There are seven of us out here and we have been asked by the police and military officers to conduct a search from our village end while they remain at Delaikoro and Dogoru side," he said.

"Right now we are overlooking Savusavu Bay and we have not found anything at all."

"But our men who were farming on the mountain top, near Delaikoro yesterday afternoon told us that the aircraft flew so low because the engine sound was so loud."
