Clean-up campaign

I am glad that as part of their team bonding exercise, Team Fiji athletes initiated a clean-up campaign which took place from Tikaram Park in Lami to the Uprising Beach Resort in Deuba.

While I was happy with this initiative, I must say that it saddened me to see the amount of rubbish that lay scattered. Bottles, plastic bags and empty cans were an eyesore in yesterday's The Fiji Times despite so much awareness. While the purpose of the clean-up campaign was team bonding, our athletes contributed immensely towards the environment which I believe looked neat and beautiful after the clean-up campaign.

I acknowledge the efforts of Ajay Ballu and our ambassadors for the success of the clean-up campaign.

Thank you Team Fiji for the thought of giving something back to our beloved community!

Thank you The Fiji Times for the coverage! The story was rewarding and enriching.

As I conclude, I wish Adishwar my brother in Auckland, my niece Jignasha Pushp and nephew Ansh Lingam a happy birthday!
