FIJI Airways Fiji 7s wing Alasio Naduva is confident he will play in the Vancouver 7s next week.

The Naweni, Cakaudrove lad said he would miss the Las Vegas 7s this weekend but was confident he would make it to the Vancouver 7s.

The Hamilton player of the final, who is a soldier by proffession, confirmed he's still waiting for his visa approval to the next leg.

"I am confident in making it to Canada next weekend but for the time being I am focusing on my personal training and getting psyched up before I leave," Naduva said.

"After the New Zealand 7s it was time out from training. I had some catching up to do with my family and celebrated my achievement with my parents.

"It hasn't been an easy road for all of us because we're all vying for a spot in the national team and we can't afford to lose focus on the main goal which is the Commonwealth Games and the World Cup."

He was named the player of the final at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Hamilton.

His performance in the final against South Africa was sensational — scoring two tries from two off-loads from Kalione Nasoko to seal the win in the second half.
