Fiji boxing's rising star Siliveni Nawai has accepted the challenge made by Sebastian Singh.

Singh, who defeated Thailand boxer Praphruet Chanton early this month, told this newspaper on February 8, "To all those boys who have challenged me, Abhay Chand, Siliveni Nawai and Ronald Naidu, the welterweight we can do it whenever you guys are ready. I'm ready."

Nawai said he was grateful for Singh to have the guts in challenging him and his two Mana Flyer Malomalo Boxing teammates in Abhay Chand and Ronald Naidu.

He said he was ready for the challenge.

"This is what I always wanted and I accept his challenge," said Nawai.

"I am grateful because he always chooses his opponents and this is the best opportunity to taste real boxing.

"I am also ready, the promoter is ready and I believe the Boxing Commission of Fiji is also ready."

Nawai's manager Chanchal Kumar said Nawai always wanted to meet Singh and had accepted to fight on 67kg.

He said if Singh changed his decision he had two other boys on different weight division.

"My three are ready, anytime, anywhere," Kumar said.

"If Sebastian is ready to fight in light-welterweight, Ronald Naidu is there, in the welterweight, Nawai will be there and if he wants to fight in the middleweight, Abhay Chand is there.

"He can pick which division he wants to fight in."

Canada Fiji Southern Boxing promoter Simon Naushad said he was ready to promote the fight.

He said the fight would occur in May if agreed by all parties.

"I have talked to my counterpart in Canada and they have agreed for the May fight.

"We have also liaised with the Boxing Commission of Fiji and have agreed to our promotion date," added Naushad.

Nawai has won all his 10 professional fights while Singh has also won his local fights and lost two overseas bouts.
