TEAM Fiji athletes had a team bonding exercise with their clean-a-thon clean-up campaign which took place from Tikaram Park in Lami to the Uprising Beach Resort in Debua, Navua on Saturday.

Team Fiji will be competing in the 2018 Commonwealth Games which will be held in Gold Coast, Australia in April.

The clean-up campaign also contributed towards the team bonding exercise to know and help one another since they would be representing the nation in various sports.

Team Fiji co-general manager Ajay Ballu said they had a successful campaign.

"We had a good turnout at the clean-a-thon and it was also something to give back to the community," Ballu said.

"There were members of the respective national sporting federations who took part along with members of the community."

The athletes who took part from the different sporting federations were beach volleyball, badminton, squash, FASANOC staff and voice of the athletes with baseball players and officials as well.

"We collected the rubbish along the road and when we look back at the highway it looked so neat and it was a very successful activity," he said.

The Commonwealth Games will be held from April 4-15.
