THE Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) women's volleyball team was crowned winners of the Divisional Championship competition after they defeated Army at the National Netball Centre in Suva.

The WAF side was sensational in having the services of national reps Anaseini Seniloli, Jiko Kotoibuavou, Claire Delai and newcomer Miriama Radiniwaimaro.

Manager Temo Tuinaceva said she was impressed with their performance and maintaining the momentum until the final whistle.

"The Army team has been a tough competitor for the past tournaments and meeting them again today (yesterday) was very challenging," she said.

Tuinaceva said the competition enabled her girls to showcase their hidden talents.

"They really gave us a good game and enabling our girls to showcase their talent and their ability to overcome pressure.

"Some of the weakness I've noticed is their communication breakdown, the girls weren't talking in the court which affected their performance, but in other areas I think the girls played really well."

The WAF Club plans to excel in all major volleyball competitions is becoming successful and now they look forwards to defending the Easter Championship title next month.

In the men's final Army 3 defeated WAF three sets to one.
