THE Nasinu football side has turned their focus towards its next game after scoring a 1-0 victory against Tailevu-Naitasiri in the Vodafone Senior League on Friday night at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

The victory was its second consecutive win in the league after beating Navua with a similar margin last weekend.

With six points in the bag after two rounds of matches, Nasinu Football Association president, Oneil Chand said the aim was to only get better from here.

"It has been a great start to the season for us and we are very positive. This year we are aiming to achieve something, "he said.

Nasoni Mereke's first half goal proved to be the difference in the match as Nasinu held on for a victory. Mereke had also scored the winner against Navua.

"Our next game is against Nadroga and we will be starting training on Monday. We will try to iron out the mistakes, correct them and see how it goes," Chand said.

The Vodafone Senior League continues today as Nadroga hosts Navua at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka and Northland faces Rakiraki at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Suva.

Both matches kick-off 3pm.
