Nuku fights back to hold Kuku in Tailevu 20-20 competition

THE Nuku Rugby Club was on fire yesterday as they fought back to draw 3-3 with Kuku in the Tailevu 20-20 Rugby 15s competition at Ratu Cakobau Park ground two.

Playing in unfavourable weather, both teams tried their best to defend their territory.

Nuku captain Esala Ralimalima said because of indiscipline they nearly lost the game.

"Some high tackles and silly mistakes cost us three yellow cards and that is not a good sign," he said.

"We understand it was raining and the ground was muddy and that affected our performance and our attack wasn't that strong and our ball handling was weak.

"We will go back to the drawing board and work on improving our mistakes."

Jopeca Siaki walked away with the best player of the match.

Ralimalima said three players made their debut in the game against Kuku.

"We had three young players who played their first game today (yesterday) and we were happy with their performance and we hope to build their potential up and hopefully these young players could be chosen to represent Tailevu.
