Fiji Bati U23 to play in bronze play-off after loss

Update: 5:43PM VODAFONE Fiji Bati Under-23 side bundled out at the semi-final stage of the Commonwealth 9s Championship in Australia earlier today.

Tonga proved too strong as they ran in five tries for a 22-6 victory over the young Bati side and progress to the final. 

Australia will meet Tonga in the final of the Commonwealth 9s later tonight while Fiji will play in the bronze medal playoffs against Samoa who had lost to Australia in the first semi-final 18-10.

The Pacific Energy Fiji Women's side ended their campaign without a victory as they went down 16-12 to Canada in the shield competition losing in extra time.
