Update: 1:15PM THE late Reverend Billy Graham was an inspiring leader to Ministers around the world

The General Secretary of the Methodist Church Reverend Ili Vunisuwai said this while relaying the church's message of condolence to the family of Rev Graham, the founder of the world renown Billy Graham Evangelism Ministry.

"He has influenced many through his bold and upfront ways of delivering his sermon in addressing Social and Political issues in an evangelistic approach,"  Rev Vunisuwai said.

"It always ends with the popular call of inviting his listeners to commit their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. Millions responded to this call for salvation. He will not only be missed by the people of the United States of America but of the entire Christian community all over the world," he said.

Rev Graham visited Fiji in 1959 during his Southern Cross Crusade in New Zealand and Australia. During a refuelling stop in Nadi he met and spoke with Fijian church leaders.

"We pray that the Lord will bestow peace upon his children and close relatives at such a time as this."
