Kai dive turns tragic

Update: 1:11PM THE national drowning death toll now stands at five after a woman in Semo village died yesterday.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the 26-year-old victim of Semo Village in Sigatoka had been diving with two other women when she disappeared.

"A search was conducted and her body was found floating near the river bank," Ms Naisoro said.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

At this time last year, the number of people who died by drowning was four.
