A LOT is at stake at this year's 32nd Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s as all participating teams will be out to stamp their mark as who will be the champion of the champions.

The event has attracted all the top teams that had won a major local 7s title to compete for the $15,000 main prizemoney.

The champion teams include defending champion of last year's Marist 7s champion in Samoa Cross of Victory Taveuni, Raka 7s champion Ratu Filise, Mana Whey Coral Coast 7s winner Police, Tavua 7s champion Saunaka and Nasinu 7s champion Wardens.

Other big guns also out to regain their champion status include former Nawaka 7s champion Army, former Coral Coast 7s winner First Light Taveuni, tournament host Nawaka and Tabadamu.

Nawaka rugby team president Jioji Kinisi said the inclusion of these champion teams would make the tournament exciting.

He said the teams' participation would inspire players to come out from their comfort zones and showcase their talents.

"I am expecting all eyes to be on us, especially with the participation of all the best 7s teams in the country," he said.

"This will also allow the players to give their best and you never know we might again unearth new talents this weekend.

"It is going to be exciting, After a long time, rugby fans will get a glimpse of top 7s action at Nadi's Prince Charles Park."

Kinisi thanked the major sponsor Paradise Beverages and all other organisations that have contributed immensely in the success of this year's tournament.

Reigning champion Cross of Victory is expected to be bolstered with the services of last year's player of the tournament and Fiji Airways national 7s squad member Anare Tevita.

The first round of pool game starts at 9am.
