Creating a litter-free Paradise

PARADISE Beverages Fiji Ltd sales and marketing manager Joseph Rodan says the company is enriched and focused on its recycling processes of empty beer bottles in a bid to keep the environment clean.

Mr Rodan said the company collected all empty beer bottles through bottle collectors around the country.

"We pay money and we have bottle collectors that do this for us," Mr Rodan said.

"There is a lot of bottle collectors that look at this as their full-time employment.

"We have about 30 bottle collectors who carry out these collections.

"This is one way we ensure the environment is clean, by collecting all our empty bottles.

"In actual fact, the brewery is run on recycling bottles.

"If we don't recycle bottles than the price of beer can be very expensive, so we collect bottles and the bottles that we bring in are all recycled bottles."

He said the recycled beer bottles could be processed in the factory over 10 times.

"After being used for 10 trips, then we destroy these bottles.

"We spend about $2.4 million on cartons of beer annually," he said.
