SEKOPE Puamau is eager to go one better after settling for a bronze medal in the sub junior boys 100m final re-run last year in the Coke Games.

The quest for the Jai Narayan College student began yesterday during his school's inter-house at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

He is now focused on the task ahead of him after being at his best at the inter-house.

Puamau settled for bronze in the 100m final and later a silver in the 200m.

"I was not expecting to win a medal last year. My training started late but I would like to thank my coach Jone Delai and the almighty for all that I achieved last year. This year I will try to win a gold medal," he said.

"The inter-house competition was good today (yesterday) and I had fun."

Young Puamau said he was interested to pursue a career in athletics and hoped to bag an overseas scholarship in the near future.
