Not allowed to return

Karmichael Hunt won't be allowed to return to training with the Queensland Reds until after his next day in court despite claims his cocaine charge will be dropped. Hunt has voluntarily stood down from all Reds training until February 19, his second court date stemming from his arrest in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane late last year.

Set to go

Billionaire mining magnate Andrew Forrest insists he will go ahead with his Indo-Pacific Rugby Championship even if Rugby Australia (RA) don't approve it. Forrest has been locked in negotiations with RA for months now, with the major sticking point being around whether players who feature in the IPRC will also be eligible for Wallabies selection.

Beale ruled out

Kurtley Beale has been heavily used to promote the Brisbane Tens but the Wallabies star will miss the tournament because of an elbow injury. Julian Savea, Liam Messam and Beale have been the trio to feature prominently in promotions by Duco Events, who launched the inaugural Tens competition at Suncorp Stadium in 2017.
