A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS OF YASAWA AND

MAMANUCA GROUP, VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS AND IS

NOW IN FORCE FOR LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP AND KADAVU.

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP,

KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS.

A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR EASTERN AND SOUTHERN VITI

LEVU, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY SMALLER

ISLANDS.

A FLOOD ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LOW LYING AREAS AND SMALL

STREAMS FOR VANUA LEVU, NORTHERN PARTS OF VITI LEVU.

Situation: Tropical depression 07F lies to the northeast of Vanua

Levu and is moving east-northeastwards away from Fiji. Meanwhile,

Tropical depression 08F lies near 20.9S 179.5E or about 250km

south-southeast of Kadavu at 3am this morning. TD08F is expected to

gradually move north towards Lau and Lomaiviti group and affect parts

of the country till later tomorrow.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

For Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and neaby smaller

islands, Lomaiviti and Kadavu:

Strong southwest to northwesterly winds with speeds of 40km/hr to

50km/hr gusting to 65km/hr.

Rough seas.

Periods of rain, heavy times and few squally thunderstorms over Lau

and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Occasional

showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls over eastern and

southern Viti Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands. Showers

possibly increasing to rain, becoming frequent and heavy from

tonight. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low

lying areas.

Moderate to fresh southwest to northeast winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls.

Showers increasing to rain, becoming frequent and heavy from tonight.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Some showers. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls especially in

the afternoon or evening.

Outlook for Saturday : Some showers.

For Labasa :

Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls.

Showers increasing to rain, becoming frequent and heavy from tonight.

West to northwesterly winds 40km/hr to 50km/hr gusting to 65km/hr.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with

heavy falls. Showers increasing to rain, becoming frequent and heavy

from tonight. West to northwesterly winds 40km/hr to 50km/hr gusting

to 65km/hr

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms.

For Rotuma :

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ROTUMA LAND AREA AND

WATERS.

Situation: An active trough of low pressure with associated rain and

thunderstorms affects Rotuma.

Over Land: Northwest winds 40 km/hr to 55 km/hr, gusting to 70km/hr.

Over Waters: Northwest winds 20 to 30 knots, gusting to 35 knots.

Rough to very rough seas. Moderate northerly swells

Periods of heavy rain and squally thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Rain and thunderstorms continuing.
