Weather watch: Heavy rain warning in force

Update: 5:13PM A HEAVY rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Lau, Lomaiviti Group, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Northern and Western parts of Viti Levu.

This has been confirmed by the special weather bulletin number 63 on heavy rain issued from the Regional Specialised Meteorological Centre (RSMC) in Nadi at 2:30pm today.

The bulletin also states a heavy rain alert in force for the rest of the country.

A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over Fiji.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression 08F lies slow moving just to the south of Fiji.

Another significant Tropical Disturbance, TD07F, currently to the far West-northwest of Fiji is expected to move towards Fiji, and may gradually intensify into a tropical depression and affect the group from tonight.
