LAUTOKA-BASED boxer Jim Nalawa is bracing for his toughest boxing battle when he faces the experienced Rahul Pillay in the Westwood Boxing Promotion fight next weekend.

The Water Authority employee made his debut in professional boxing last year and has won his two previous bouts on knockout.

Nalawa says his aim is to continue his unbeaten run and to stamp his mark in Fiji Boxing.

He said a win against Kumar would boost his morale in his quest to win his first Fijian title.

"This is going to be the toughest fight compared with my two previous bouts because Kumar has been in the sport for many years," said Nalawa.

"But this will not stop me from doing my best and I will give my best to maintain my unbeaten run."

The Nakorotubu native said the fight would be crucial for him because he wanted to win for his special fans.

"This fight is dedicated to my loved ones here in Fiji and to my fiancé in Japan.

"I will need to fight well to make them proud and I will do all it takes to make them happy.

"I also thank my bosses at the Water Authority of Fiji in Lautoka for releasing me to train and prepare for this fight."

The fight is one of the many bouts scheduled as a lead-up to the main bout between Fiji's Sebastian Singh and Thailand boxer Jomyuth Sor Narongchal.
