IN an effort to ensure public's preparedness towards natural disasters, the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) will organise a national tsunami drill later this month.

NDMO acting executive officer Mitieli Naucabalavu said they were yet to confirm a date for the drill.

"We're aiming to have the national tsunami drill sometimes this month, however, we have not confirmed a date yet," Mr Naucabalavu said.

NDMO was still awaiting confirmation from the Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu, who wanted to be present on the day, he said.

"We are still awaiting confirmation from our minister because he wants to be present on the day of the drill, once the date is confirmed, then we will inform the general public."
