Weather watch: Flooding warning remains for low lying areas

Update: 5:17PM A FLOOD alert remains in force for the low lying areas, small streams for Vanua Levu, Northern and Western parts of Viti Levu.

The special weather bulletin number 41 for flood issued from RSMC in Nadi at 4.00pm says a dominant moist north-westerly wind flow prevails over Fiji with the trough of low pressure just to the west of the country.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression 08F lies slow moving to the south of Fiji and is moving south away from the group.

Another significant Tropical Disturbance, TD07F, currently to the far northwest of Fiji near Vanuatu is expected to move towards Fiji and may gradually intensify into a depression and possibly affect the group from Thursday.

The next special weather bulletin for flood will be issued at or around 7.00pm today.
