Coral Coast power outage

Update: 4:32PM RESIDENTS along the Coral Coast are being advised that there is currently an unplanned power outage from this morning until 6:00pm this evening.

Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) CEO Hasmukh Patel said in a statement issued today  that at 9:30am today the transmission line carrying power to customers along the Coral Coast tripped, causing an unplanned power outage.

"This unplanned power outage resulted from hardware failure, and while we do our utmost to prevent such failures, it is impossible to completely eliminate them," Mr Patel said.

Mr Patel said FEA teams are currently working on repair works and power supply to the affected customers is expected to be restored by 6:00pm today.

"The FEA sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers due to this unplanned power outage."

This outage affects power supply to customers in the following areas: Sovi Bay, Vatukarasa, Balenabelo, Koroinatu, Namada, Natugua, Hideaway, Taqage, Maui Bay, Nagasau, Votua Housing, Votualailai Village, Votua Village, Naviti Resort, Korolevu, Qalito, Warwick Resort.
