KEY findings from the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) 2017 Aid for Trade Report will be discussed extensively at a two-day conference in Suva which commences today.

The report highlights emerging trends in aid for trade in the context of evolving trade performance in Asia and the Pacific.

In particular, the impact of aid for trade on trade in services, thereby helping increase economic and job opportunities for women, and the rise of e-commerce.

The conference is jointly organised by ADB with the World Bank, Department of Foreign Affairs and The University of the South Pacific.

Held at the Faculty of Business and Economics Postgraduate Lecture Theatre, USP Laucala Campus, the event will also review latest trends in aid for trade, disbursements and trade costs particularly for small economies in the Pacific.

The opening remark is expected to be delivered by permanent secretary for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism Shaheen Ali while the keynote speech will be delivered by ADB vice president Bambang Susantano.
