A NEW boat called Seda kei Viti will now help improve service delivery to the Lomaiviti Group.

The boat, which was launched last Friday, is an addition to the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation's fleet.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa said accessibility to services was a challenge for most villages and islands in the Lomaiviti Group.

"The vessel will provide much-needed assistance to the people of Lomaiviti and these services include easier access to financial assistance for the underprivileged, quicker response to child protection and family issues, more awareness programs and availability of advice for locals."
