NEWCOMER Malakai Marama is bracing for one of his toughest battles when he faces Lautoka's Franco Fraser in the Westwood Boxing Promotion main supporting bout later this month.

The Tailevu native who is training with Sebastian Singh in Suva said he wanted to maintain his unbeaten record after his three wins last year.

Marama said he had prepared well for the fight knowing his opponent would be a tough nut to crack.

"This is my second fight in professional boxing and I want to maintain my winning record," he said.

"It is going to be a very tough challenge for me but I have been training hard to win."

The 22-year-old said he respected his opponent being one of the experienced fighters in the country.

"He is skilful and very talented.

"He will also want to win but for me my target is to also win and to stamp my name in the sport."

Marama said his aim was to represent the country in the not too distant future.

Meanwhile, Westwood Boxing Promoter Praneel Dass, in an earlier interview, said that Sebastian Singh would battle against Thailand boxer Jomyuth Sor Narongchai in the main bout of his program.

Narongchai, also a champion kickboxer in Thailand, has won all his seven professional bouts.

Dass said the fight would be a wonderful opportunity for boxing fans to witness quality fight.
