Weather affects roads

Shayal Devi
Tuesday, February 06, 2018

HEAVY rain flooded crossings and roads in parts of the Western Division yesterday.

Vakabuli Paipai crossing number two in Lautoka was partly washed out and only open to pedestrians.

In Rakiraki, crossings in Savusavu, Burelevu, Navuniyamunu, Lau and Nausori were inundated by flood waters.

Lawai crossing and Nalele Flats crossing in Sigatoka and Naseyani and Dramasi crossings in Tavua were closed.

The Fiji Roads Authority has cautioned members of the public to take extra precaution while travelling in these adverse weather and not to drive into waters of unknown depth and current.
