Water treatment plant repaired

Sunday, February 04, 2018

Update: 1:56PM THE Vanessa Valve at the Nagado Water Treatment Plant has been repaired.

According to the Water Authority of Fiji, repair works were completed at 4am today.

WAF chief operating officer Samanmal Ekanayake said the repair of the leaking valve was successfully completed within its expected timeframe.

"The next step is to 'charge the line' or refill the pipeline network from the Vaturu Dam to the Nagado Water Treatment Plant," he said.

He said water supply from Vaturu to Nagado is expected to nromalise by 3pm this afternoon.

"Once water supply is normalised from Vaturu to Nagado, a five-metre level of raw water is required for treatment to commence and all these steps should be within the given timeframe for restoration, which is Tuesday at 5pm," he said.
