Holistic approach needed to eradicate drugs

MERE NALEBA
Sunday, February 04, 2018

Update: 12:42PM COMMISSIONER of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho believes eradicating the use of drugs in all levels of communities needs a holistic approach.

Brig-Gen Qiliho said methamphetamine is also a drug which Police has discovered is being circulated amongst Fijians.

He said it is something that people still refuse to talk about.

"So when we say the fight against drugs, it is not only the fight against marijuana it is also the fight against hard drugs like Meth," Brig-Gen Qiliho said.

"Meth is a big issue that is not talked about and we have raised it with Ministers in Government and leaders in societies that we need to talk about it otherwise the effects of it on a small country like Fiji and its population will be very devastating."
