FIJI Airways 7s team coach Gareth Baber has warned his players to be cautious in their play today in the play-offs of the Hamilton 7s in New Zealand.

He said the players were warned during halftime break in their match against Spain.

Fiji led the first half 12-0 with the first try to Eroni Sau — 40 seconds from kick-off after he combined with Vatemo Ravouvou and Jerry Tuwai.

The second try came three minutes later as Tuwai stepped his way through the Spaniards for the half-time lead.

In the later spell, Fiji was punished with two yellow cards — Mesulame Kunavula for an attempted intercept and Eroni Sau for a high tackle.

Spain took advantage of Fiji's two men less to score two tries — Pol Pal and Manuel Sainz to tie scores 12-all.

The new sensation Alusio Naduva, with his green boots, came in as a replacement and scooted down the sideline for 17-12 before replacement Amenoni Nasilasila cemented Fiji's victory seconds from full-time for 24-12.

The win pushed Fiji to the quarters, but Baber said they had to play smart.

"We have to play smart to control the game," he said.
