Labasa's Oceania plan

LABASA has set their focus to qualify for the Oceania Champions League, says head coach Bal Sanju Reddy.

Labasa was supposed to play neighbours Dreketi in the 2018 Vodafone Premier League match yesterday, however, the match was postponed because of the adverse weather.

"Our main goal is to qualify for the Oceania Champions League and it all starts with the first match of the national football league where we have to set the platform," Reddy said.

"The players worked hard to win the Champion vs Champion series and they have potential.

"We have got good players in the team who have shown a lot of commitment and determination during training."

The side has been boosted with the return of Fiji team midfield general Christopher Wasasala and Iliesa Lino from Lautoka in the last transfer window.

"Goal scoring was my biggest concern in the CVC, but it has been resolved with the return of Christopher as he will add firepower up front for Labasa in attack," Reddy said.

"He had been one of the key players in the team and with the experienced gain by playing in the Fiji team will be an added boost."

Meanwhile, Rewa will host Nadi in the national football league match at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori at 3pm.
