Update: 2:54PM PEOPLE who are committed to a free and prosperous Pacific region are encouraged to apply for nominations on the Pacific Islands Forum's Specialist Sub-Committee on Regionalism (SSCR) this month.

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) is calling on nominations from suitably experienced Pacific people from a Civil Society Organisation in the Pacific or a  private sector organisation to fill available positions on the SSCR.

PIFS secretary general Dame Meg Taylor said they were looking for people with diverse backgrounds and experience and have the ability to work together for the common good of all.

"We are hoping to attract interest from individuals with expertise in analysis, economics, planning, public policy formulation, and sustainable development. People who understand the implementing capacities of our governments, organisations and communities, and who appreciate how regional level policy initiatives can make a difference at the country-level and for the region at large," she said in a statement by PIFS.

Application forms for the vacant positions are available from the PIFS website and applications must be received before 5pm (Fiji time) on Tuesday  February 13, 2018.
