Planned water cut With the planned water cut my uncle Allen decided to fill water in his three old refrigerators. He filled the freezers full and then he filled the cooler. After one hour of filling the cooler, he went to check and found out that the outlet has drained all the water. Isa, my uncle is getting old. Narayan Reddy Lautoka

Provisional candidates

Good to see NFP's provisional candidates being announced.

What I like is the number of women candidates. And best of all is my kaivata Lenora Qereqeretabua. Yeehaa!

Cops and

English

Contrary to what the COMPOL stated, I believe our police officers should be well versed with the English language (both verbal and written) (Source: fijivillage.com).

I believe having a ship shape command of this globally conversed language will enable these lawmen to record post crime statements and reports with accuracy and zero to minimal grammatical errors.

So yes, I believe it's quite embarrassing to have smart looking officers with limited and poor English, especially when tourists happen to roll into town.

Our

gladiators

We pray for our gladiators to be on top of their game this time around in Hamilton in New Zealand. We all know you have the ammo to do the job and with the right set of mind nothing can get you guys down.

Sometimes we face ups and downs in life and in games as well. Forget about last week, that's all water under the bridge now. It's now a new place.

May you all be fresh and ready to fire as the world looks on!

Disposable

cards

I agree with Ilisabeta Camaivuna (The Fiji Times - February 2, 2017) that the drivers should not be burdened with the sale of disposable cards.

I believe the agents should sell it and the balance on the card after travel should be refunded by them. The sooner these changes are made the better for everyone. I believe a small number of bus passengers are taking advantage of the system.
