Hurricanes blow Scorchers hope

THE Perth Scorchers are out of BBL07 after a horror 71-run semi-final loss to Hobart at Optus Stadium.

It was a tough end to the tournament for the ladder-leading Scorchers, who sorely missed spin-bowling all-rounder Ashton Agar.

Matthew Wade dominated Perth's all-out pace attack from the get-go on his way to a player-of-the-match 71 off 45 balls.

The Hurricanes went on to make the equal-third highest score in BBL history, finishing on 4-210 thanks to powerful knocks from Ben McDermott and Dan Christian.

In reply, the Scorchers lost regular wickets in a disappointing batting display, getting bowled out for just 139.
