Man shot in Dannevirke; NZ Police investigate

Update: 12:07PM NORTH Island: NEW Zealand Police this morning responded to reports of a shooting in Hunter Street, Dannevirke.

The report from the NZ Police media centre issued this morning said they were called shortly before 11am and on arrival found a man had been shot in the arm.

It said that a white station wagon was seen leaving the property after the shooting.

"Police know who the offenders are and work is underway to locate them. We do not believe there is any risk to the wider community," the NZPF said.

However, residents of Hunter Street and the surrounding areas are advised to expect to see continued Police presence today as officers examined the scene and speak to potential witnesses.
